Diced and Confused Post Jam Edition

In the interest of preserving the Jam Edition of this game, it is now available to download for Windows*. My goal was to use restraint when updating to the Post-Jam Edition, to preserve the original experience with some QOL changes, however that quickly ballooned to extra levels and a few extra features. Checkout the full list of changes below:

Changes

Major:

  • Added 3 New Levels (Levels 3, 5, and 9)! Reordered some of the old levels.**
  • Added an undo button!! Press z to retrace your steps.
  • Add a hint button! Press to reveal a hint about your current level.
  • Button prompts for Menu, Hint, Restart, and Undo added to all levels.
  • Added Fullscreen support. (Tested on my monitor, if you have issues with fullscreen please let me know)
  • Added 5 new colour schemes that can be cycled through using the new colour scheme icon in the menu!
  • Added a new checkered grid setting.

Minor:

  • Slightly changed the Level 1 to accommodate new button prompt layout.
  • Slight change to level 2.
  • Added a Dicepad to the top left of level 3 (Now level 4) to help players learn the mechanic it is teaching.
  • Removed Player walking dust effect.
  • Dicepads are now the same colour whether activated or not.
  • Fixed Player rotation so that it is now based solely on movement rather than input.
  • Added delay to restart input.
  • Splash screen message changed to indicate the game has been altered since the Jam ended.
  • All levels now unlocked from the start, so that anyone who just wants to try the new levels (3,5,9), may do so.
  • Any time you return to the menu the cursor will now be where you left it.
  • Remade wiggle setting icon.
  • Complete level icons are now represented through filled in button rather than a checkmark.
  • Changed menu to accommodate new levels and settings.
  • Added a plug for my Twitter(@retrowillgames) to the menu ;)


The Future

This Game-Jam version of the game will likely remain as is, aside from bug fixes if necessary. I may at some point creat a sequel or expand on this game as I have many ideas for new mechanics, I also think it could work as an app.

Here is mechanic that didn’t make it into the game called  “movers” - I see a lot of fun puzzle potential with these and other mechanics!
